Who finds a blog finds a treasure!

The Small Web is the life force of the internet. The internet without mega-corporations, without economic incentives in extracting each ounce of your attention, without algorithic manipulation. Just people, their thougts, on their little personal websites.

But how do you find these gems? How do you find the treasure in the vast ocean of the internet? Like the old days: by sharing links!

A collection of blogs is like a small treasure. So here it is my treasure map, in no particular order.

Blogs

  • Birchtree. The blog of Matt Birchler is full of interesting thoughts on tech, games, movies, and more.
  • Furia. The blog of Glenn McDonald, better known for his Every Noise at Once project. It contains many interesting reflections on music and the role of algorithms in music discovery.
  • Ian Betteridge. The blog of Ian Betteridge, of Betteridge’s Law fame, a tech journalist and writer. His blog is full of interesting thoughts on tech, media, and more. It is the kind of smart guy that, even when I don’t agree with him (it surpasses me on the left side on some topics), I always find his arguments interesting.
  • Dottor Blaster. [ITALIAN] There are some people on the web that you never met, but you followed and talked online since forever. Alessio is one of them. He is like an old friend.
  • Raffaele Di Fazio’s Tech Adventures. Speaking of friends. Raffaele is an old University colleague. He is a great developer with a beautiful career. He doesn’t write often, but when he does, it is always worth it.
  • Ian Henry. Ian Henry is a one of those geniuses that you find on the web and attracts you like a black hole. I’ve found his blog while exploring with Janet and he wrote a book about it.
  • Stefan Judis Web Development. Stefan has a weekly newsletter about web development that I follow. Definitely worth to check his blog. And he looks like a nice guy too (that is a bonus).
